This residential project involved a modern knockdown-rebuild that brings coastal warmth and contemporary detailing to suburban Canberra. This new home replaces an outdated structure with a fresh design that is light, open, and deeply connected to its environment.
The build features SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) construction, chosen for its efficiency, thermal performance, and ability to streamline the construction process. This system enabled a faster build time while maintaining design integrity and allowing for a high level of finish throughout the home.
The design draws on relaxed coastal influences, with a palette of soft whites, warm timbers, and subtle textures that create a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Large windows and open living spaces enhance the sense of flow and connection between indoor and outdoor areas, reinforcing the laid-back lifestyle at the heart of the design.
Careful consideration was given to every material and detail. The complexity of the construction method required thoughtful execution, particularly in the application of finishes. Precision craftsmanship was essential to achieve the clean lines, seamless transitions, and high-quality detailing that define the result.
This home reflects the perfect balance of performance and lifestyle. It delivers energy efficiency and durability without compromising on style or comfort, making it a standout example of considered, contemporary residential design.
